NKREKP Approves Draft Amendments to the Commercial Electricity Metering Code

The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities has approved a draft resolution “On Approval of Amendments to the Commercial Electricity Metering Code”.

The draft was developed in connection with the entry into force of Law of Ukraine No. 4777-IX dated February 10, 2026, and the need to bring the provisions of the Commercial Electricity Metering Code in line with legislative requirements.

The proposed amendments provide for the regulation of commercial electricity metering for facilities that generate, consume, and store energy within a single connection point to the network of a transmission system operator or distribution system operator.

The draft also provides for improvements to metering approaches at the facilities of electricity producers, energy storage operators, and consumers.

Separate provisions of the document concern the classification of commercial metering points by facility type and the composition of electrical installations, as well as clarification of the procedures for forming commercial metering data.

After the draft resolution is published on the official NKREKP website, market participants and interested parties will be able to submit their comments and proposals.
