NKREKP Approved Changes for Active Consumers and Distributed Generation

On May 19, 2026, NKREKP approved a draft resolution aimed at updating the rules for active consumers, energy storage facilities, and distributed generation.

The draft proposes clarifying the definition of “allowed capacity” and dividing it into guaranteed and non-guaranteed capacity. The document also provides for the possibility for energy storage facility operators to sell electricity to consumers, provided there is a common connection point to the distribution system operator’s grid.

The conditions for purchasing electricity generated by private households from solar power plants under the “green” tariff are also being clarified. Such electricity will be purchased by universal service suppliers during specific hours: from 04:00 to 23:00 from April 1 to October 31, and from 06:00 to 21:00 from November 1 to March 31.

According to NKREKP, the proposed changes are intended to support the development of active consumption, distributed generation, and Ukraine’s energy resilience.
