The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Updated the Rules for Electronic Electricity Auctions

On May 20 2026 the Government adopted Resolution No 644 which introduces amendments to the procedure for conducting electronic auctions for the sale of electricity under bilateral agreements

The document updates the approach to organizing such auctions and clarifies certain procedures for electricity market participants

The changes concern auction sessions application submission participation of electricity producers interaction between auction organizers and participants as well as the publication of information on auction results

The adopted updates are intended to make the procedure for selling electricity through electronic auctions clearer more transparent and better adapted to the current conditions of the market

The updated procedure is expected to support competition in the bilateral electricity market and improve the mechanism for concluding contracts between market participants
